Three Chileans Arrested for Robbing Apartments in Buenos Aires

Three Chilean citizens with criminal records were arrested in Buenos Aires for a series of apartment robberies in the upscale Palermo neighborhood. A large sum of money and valuables were seized from them. Two of them were in the country illegally.

Three Chilean citizens, all with criminal records, were arrested accused of robbing apartments in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that officers from the 14th Neighborhood Police Station received an alert about a robbery in a building located at Soler 600, where the suspects fled in a Toyota Yaris. The officers began to pursue them until the alleged criminals abandoned the vehicle on Amenábar 100, continued the escape on foot in different directions, but were arrested in the vicinity of the CEAMSE facility. The authorities seized among the belongings of those involved and inside the car $1,199,500, 106 dollars and 60 euros, 20 credit cards, a gray bag, a black backpack, a duffel bag, two notebooks, 12 perfumes, seven watches, a video game console, a high-end cell phone, four bottles of whiskey, among other valuable objects. In the theft committed in the Soler building, the alleged thieves, aged 24, 27 and 36, broke into four homes, with no people in the place at the time of the crime. The National Court in Criminal and Correctional No. 60 intervened in the case, ordered the arrests of the three foreigners and filed the facts as robbery under the modality of absence of residents. Additionally, it was found that the organization had records for robbery, violation of property and disrespect, while two of them entered Argentina illegally and may have links to an incident that occurred on Lafinur at 3100.
